A standard LG infrared remote works with most LG TVs for basic control and needs no pairing. A Magic Remote must be the model made for your TV’s year: LG lists compatibility on each remote’s product page. To register it, point it at the TV and press the wheel (OK). Until it arrives, Kliky controls the TV from your phone.

Which Magic Remote fits your TV
Magic Remote model names carry the year: MR23 for 2023, MR24 for 2024 and so on. Each model supports its own year and usually the one or two before it. LG’s 2025 remote, for example, is listed for 2023, 2024 and 2025 TVs. Check the compatibility note on the remote’s product page against your TV’s model code, which is on the label on the back of the TV.
Register a Magic Remote
- Put batteries in and turn the TV on.
- Point the remote at the TV and press the wheel (OK).
- A message on the screen confirms the registration.
If it does not register, reset it: hold Back and Home together for 5 seconds until the light on the power button blinks, then press the wheel again.
No purchase needed: use your phone
An LG smart TV on your Wi‑Fi can be controlled from a phone on the same network. Kliky gives you the remote, a touchpad that moves the pointer, a keyboard and voice search. The single button under the LG logo turns the TV on if the remote is gone.
