What Kliky does on a Philips TV

  • The full remote

Directions, OK, Back, Home, volume and playback, laid out for Philips TV.

  • App shortcuts

Open the apps and channels on the TV straight from your phone.

  • Phone keyboard

Type searches and passwords on your phone instead of with arrow keys.

  • Voice search and touchpad

Say what you want to watch, or swipe through menus.

How to connect your phone to a Philips TV

  1. 1

    Same Wi‑Fi

Connect your phone and the TV to the same Wi‑Fi network. Guest networks and VPNs keep them apart.

  2. 2

    Pick your TV

Open Kliky and choose the TV from the list of devices it finds.

  3. 3

    Confirm on the TV

A Roku TV connects straight away. A Google TV shows a six-digit code and a Fire TV a four-digit code to type into the app.

  4. 4

    Start controlling

The TV remembers your phone, so next time Kliky reconnects by itself.

Philips remote app not working?

Open Help

TV not found

Put the phone on the same Wi‑Fi as the TV, turn off VPNs and avoid guest networks. On iPhone, allow Local Network access for the app.

No prompt or code appears on the TV

Wake the Philips TV, go to its Home screen and start the connection again from the app. A TV that is still on its first setup screen has to finish setup first.

The TV does not turn on from the phone

Many TVs leave Wi‑Fi in standby. Look for a quick start or wake over network option in the TV’s power or network settings; not every model has one.

Keyboard not showing

Select a text field on the TV first. The keyboard in Kliky opens when the TV is waiting for text.

Remote control for Philips smart TV

In the United States, Philips smart TVs are mostly Philips Roku TV and Philips Google TV models. In Europe they run Google TV, Android TV, Saphi or the newer Titan OS. Kliky finds the TV on your Wi‑Fi and shows the remote that matches its software.

Philips Roku TV remote

A Philips Roku TV is controlled like any Roku TV, including volume, power and inputs from the phone. Everything on the Roku remote page applies. Any Roku TV remote or Roku voice remote works as a replacement.

Philips universal remotes are a different thing

Philips also sells universal remotes under its name, for controlling other brands of TV. If you are trying to program one, the code list comes with that remote. If you want one remote for several devices without codes, a phone app does it over Wi‑Fi: see universal remotes for Roku.

Lost Philips remote

Philips TVs have a small joystick or button on the back or under the bottom edge for power, volume and source. With the TV on Wi‑Fi, a phone on the same network replaces the remote.

Philips remote app FAQ

Can I use my phone as a Philips TV remote?

Yes. With the phone on the same Wi‑Fi as the TV, pick the TV in Kliky. Google TV models ask for a code shown on the screen.

Is there a universal remote for a Philips Roku TV?

Yes. Infrared universal remotes that list Roku TV work, and any Roku TV remote does too. A phone app is the option that needs no code.

Does it work with Philips Android TV and Google TV?

Yes. Both accept a phone remote over the home network.

Is the Philips remote app free?

Yes. Kliky is free to download on the App Store and Google Play, and the remote is free to use. Some extra features are offered as an optional subscription inside the app.

Is this the official Philips app?

No. Kliky is an independent app made by Orvanta Digital Limited and is not affiliated with Philips.
