A Firestick remote on your phone
Fire TV devices accept remote commands from phones on the same Wi‑Fi. Kliky gives you the navigation ring, Home, Back, Menu and playback keys, a keyboard for searches and passwords, and voice search through your phone’s microphone.
The first time you connect, the Fire TV shows a code on the screen and you confirm it in the app. After that Kliky reconnects by itself.
Remote control for Amazon Fire TV Stick, Cube and Fire TVs
Kliky works as a remote for Fire TV Stick, Stick Lite, Stick 4K and 4K Max, Fire TV Cube, and Fire TV smart TVs from Insignia, Toshiba, Pioneer, Panasonic and Amazon. The Fire TV has to be connected to your Wi‑Fi, and your phone has to be on the same network.
A Fire TV that is offline cannot be found by any phone app. If yours lost its network, see connect a Firestick to Wi‑Fi without a remote.
Lost Firestick remote, or one that won’t pair
A phone remote keeps the Fire TV usable while you sort out the plastic one. See lost Firestick remote, Firestick remote not working and how to pair or reset a Fire TV remote. If you decide to buy, Firestick remote replacement explains which remote fits which device.
Universal remotes and Firestick
Ordinary universal remotes are infrared, and a Fire TV Stick has no infrared receiver. A phone app works over Wi‑Fi instead, and it controls your TV and other streaming devices from the same list. More in universal remotes for Firestick.
Kliky and Amazon’s Fire TV app
Amazon’s Fire TV app asks you to sign in to your Amazon account. Kliky is an independent app, not affiliated with Amazon: it needs no account, and it also controls Roku, Samsung, LG and other TVs in the same home.
