Remote control for Sony TV
Sony Bravia smart TVs run Google TV (2021 and later) or Android TV (2015 to 2020). Both accept a phone as a remote on the same network. The first time you connect, the TV shows a code and you enter it in the app.
Kliky gives you directions, Enter, Back, Home, volume, inputs and playback, a keyboard for searches and passwords, voice search and shortcuts to your apps.
A universal remote for Sony TV
Infrared universal remotes work with Sony TVs after entering a Sony code, but they have no voice or keyboard. A phone app needs no code and also controls the other TVs and streaming sticks in the house.
Lost Sony remote
Sony TVs have a power button under the Sony logo or on the back near the lower edge. Depending on the model it also cycles volume, channel and input.
For the phone to switch the TV on, enable Remote start in the TV’s network settings. Without it the TV leaves Wi‑Fi when it sleeps.
Sony TV with a Roku or Fire TV Stick
Sony does not make Roku TVs or Fire TVs. With a stick plugged in, use HDMI‑CEC. HDMI‑CEC lets one remote steer a device on another HDMI port. Turn it on in the TV’s settings and the TV remote’s arrows, OK and Back keys drive the streaming stick, while the stick’s remote can switch the TV on and change its volume. Sony calls it Bravia Sync.
