Remote control for Samsung smart TV
Samsung smart TVs run Tizen and accept remote commands from devices on the same network. Kliky sends the same keys as the Samsung Smart Remote: directions, Enter, Return, Home, volume, channels, playback and the number pad.
The first time you connect, the TV shows an Allow prompt. Accept it once and the phone is remembered. A keyboard for searches and passwords, a touchpad and shortcuts to your apps come with the remote.
A universal remote for Samsung TV, without buying one
Most people searching for a universal remote for a Samsung TV want a working remote today. A plastic universal remote needs a code and controls the TV by infrared. A phone app needs neither: if the TV is on Wi‑Fi, it works.
Kliky also controls the other screens in the house, such as a Roku, a Fire TV or an LG TV, from the same list. A non-smart Samsung TV with no network connection cannot be controlled from a phone; it needs an infrared remote.
Lost Samsung remote
Find the TV controller: a small button or stick on the back in the lower right corner, under the center of the front bezel, or under the bezel on the right. A press opens a small menu for power, volume, channel and source.
With the TV on Wi‑Fi, your phone takes over from there. More options are in how to control a Samsung TV without a remote.
Samsung TV with a Roku or Fire TV Stick
Samsung does not make Roku TVs or Fire TVs, but many Samsung TVs have a stick plugged in. HDMI‑CEC lets one remote steer a device on another HDMI port. Turn it on in the TV’s settings and the TV remote’s arrows, OK and Back keys drive the streaming stick, while the stick’s remote can switch the TV on and change its volume. Samsung calls it Anynet+.
In Kliky the TV and the stick are two devices, and you switch between them in a tap. See the Roku remote and Fire TV remote pages.
SmartThings and Kliky
Samsung’s SmartThings app includes a TV remote and asks for a Samsung account, with the TV added to that account. Kliky is an independent app, not affiliated with Samsung. It opens straight to the remote and needs no account.
