A Samsung TV is one of the easier TVs to get online with no remote, because it accepts an ordinary USB mouse and keyboard.

Plug a USB mouse or keyboard into the TV, open Settings › General › Network › Open Network Settings › Wireless, choose your Wi‑Fi and enter the password. Or connect an Ethernet cable, which needs no password. Once the TV is online, Kliky on a phone on the same network replaces the remote.

  1. Plug in a mouse or keyboard
  2. Open network settings
  3. Join your Wi‑Fi

1. USB mouse or keyboard

  1. Turn the TV on with the controller button, on the back lower right or under the front bezel.
  2. Plug a USB mouse or keyboard into the TV. A pointer appears with a mouse; with a keyboard, use the arrow keys and Enter.
  3. Open Settings › General › Network › Open Network Settings.
  4. Choose Wireless, select your network and enter the password. With a mouse, click the letters on the on-screen keyboard.

On older models the path is Menu › Network › Network Settings.

2. Ethernet cable

Connect the TV’s LAN port to the router. The TV goes online by itself. You can leave it wired, or use a phone remote on the same network to set up Wi‑Fi afterwards.

3. The TV controller button

The controller opens a small menu with Settings on many models, and you can move through it with presses. Typing a long password this way is slow, so it is the fallback when no USB device is to hand.

Then use your phone as the remote

  1. Install Kliky from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Connect the phone to the same Wi‑Fi as the TV.
  3. Pick the TV and choose Allow on the TV screen, with the mouse or the controller button.
