Put in fresh AA batteries, point the remote at the TV and press the wheel (OK) to register it. If that fails, reset it: hold Back + Home for 5 seconds until the light on the power button blinks, then press the wheel again. Pointer gone? Shake the remote left and right. Until it works, Kliky controls the TV from your phone.
- Replace the batteries
- Register
- Reset if needed
1. Batteries
The Magic Remote takes two AA batteries and uses them faster than an infrared remote. Weak batteries show up first as a pointer that drifts or vanishes.
2. Register the remote
With the TV on, point the remote at it and press the wheel (OK). A message on the screen confirms the registration. The power button works by infrared even when the remote is not registered, which is why power can work while nothing else does.
3. Reset and register again
Hold Back and Home together for 5 seconds. The light on the power button blinks to show the remote has been unregistered. Press the wheel to register it again.
4. The pointer has disappeared
The pointer hides after a few seconds without movement. Shake the remote gently left and right to bring it back. If it never appears, redo the registration with fresh batteries.
5. Restart the TV
Unplug the TV for a minute. Bluetooth on the TV side can hang, and a restart clears it.
Control the TV from your phone meanwhile
An LG webOS TV on Wi‑Fi accepts a phone as a remote.
- Install Kliky from the App Store or Google Play.
- Connect the phone to the same Wi‑Fi as the TV.
- Pick the TV and accept the prompt on the screen. With no remote, select it with the button under the LG logo.
If nothing helps
Magic Remotes are specific to model years. LG TV remote replacement shows how to pick the right one.
