Use Amazon’s Fire TV app if you only own Fire TV devices and are signed in with your Amazon account anyway. Use Kliky if you want a remote with no account, or you also have a Roku, Samsung, LG or other TV to control from the same app.

Where Amazon’s app is the better choice
- You want an app made by the maker of the device.
- You want the phone keyboard and voice without a subscription.
- You use an Alexa Voice Remote Pro and want to ring it from the app when it is lost.
- Everything you watch on is a Fire TV.
Where Kliky is the better choice
- You do not want to sign in to an Amazon account on a phone, for example a guest’s or a child’s.
- The house has more than Fire TV: a Roku, a Samsung or LG TV. One app lists them all.
- You want Screen Mirroring, Photo and Video Cast or AI Advisor in the same app.
What neither app can do
Both need the Fire TV on your Wi‑Fi and past its first setup screen. For a Fire TV that has lost its network, see connect a Firestick to Wi‑Fi without a remote.
