To fix a Hisense TV remote, put in fresh batteries, unplug the TV for a minute, and pair the remote again if it has a microphone button. If the Hisense TV is on Wi‑Fi, Kliky on your phone controls it while you sort the remote out.

  1. Replace the batteries
  2. Restart the TV
  3. Pair the remote again

Find out which Hisense TV you have

Look at the remote and the Home screen. A purple directional pad means Roku TV. An Alexa button means Fire TV. A Google Assistant button and a Google TV Home screen mean Google TV. A VIDAA logo on the Home screen means VIDAA.

On Google TV and VIDAA models, a remote with a microphone button usually pairs by holding Home + Back for about 5 seconds close to the TV.

Fixing the Hisense remote

Replace both batteries, then point the remote at your phone’s front camera and press a key. A flash on the phone screen means the remote sends infrared; a voice remote may flash only on Power.

  • Hisense Roku TV: a simple remote has nothing to pair. For a voice remote, hold the pairing button in the battery compartment, or Back + Home, for 5 seconds near the TV. Full steps: Roku remote not working.
  • Hisense Google TV or Android TV: open Settings › Remotes & Accessories and pair the remote; the TV shows which buttons to hold. More in Google TV remote not working.
  • Hisense Fire TV: hold Home for 10 seconds within about 10 feet of the TV. Full steps: Firestick remote not working.

If nothing changes, unplug the Hisense TV for a minute. A TV that has frozen ignores a working remote.

The buttons on the Hisense TV itself

On Hisense TVs from 2020 on, the button sits under the small sensor window in the middle of the bottom edge. Older models have buttons on the back or side. That window is low, so a soundbar in front of the TV can cover it.

Use your phone as the Hisense remote

  1. Install Kliky from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Connect the phone to the same Wi‑Fi as the TV.
  3. Pick the TV in the list. Confirm the code if the TV shows one; Roku TV models connect with no code.

A Hisense TV that is offline cannot be reached by a phone: see how to use a Hisense TV without a remote.

Replacing a Hisense remote

Buy by software: a Roku TV remote for a Hisense Roku TV, a Hisense Google TV voice remote for Google TV models, a Fire TV remote for Fire TV models. A remote from one does nothing on another, although the TVs look alike.

Frequently asked questions

How do I pair a Hisense remote?

It depends on the software. Roku TV voice remotes: hold the pairing button or Back and Home for 5 seconds. Fire TV: hold Home for 10 seconds. Google TV and VIDAA voice remotes usually pair by holding Home and Back for about 5 seconds.

Why does only the power button work on my Hisense remote?

Power is sent by infrared and the other keys by Bluetooth. The remote has lost its Bluetooth pairing; pair it again.

Can I use my phone as a Hisense remote?

Yes, on Hisense Roku TV, Google TV and Fire TV models that are on Wi‑Fi. Put the phone on the same network.
