How to turn on a Vizio TV without the remote
Vizio smart TVs run SmartCast.
Vizio puts its buttons on the back of the TV, in the lower left or lower right corner. Depending on the model there is a row of buttons (Power, Volume, Input) or a single multi-function button. Press Power to turn the TV on.
How to change the input on a Vizio TV without the remote
Press the Input button on the back repeatedly to step through HDMI 1, HDMI 2 and the other sources, and wait a moment on the one you want. On single-button models, a short press opens a small menu; press to move and hold to select Input.

Use the Volume + and Volume − buttons on the back. If your TV has only one button, volume is in the same small menu as Input. Models with nothing but a power button need a remote or a phone for volume.

- Install Kliky from the App Store or Google Play.
- Connect the phone to the same Wi‑Fi as the TV.
- Pick the TV in the list. Type the four-digit code the TV shows.
How to connect a Vizio TV to Wi‑Fi without the remote
A Vizio that is offline cannot be reached by a phone app, and the buttons cannot type a password. Options:
- Ethernet cable from the router to the TV, on models with a network port. The TV comes online without a password.
- USB keyboard. Many Vizio TVs accept one for menu navigation and typing.
- Infrared universal remote that lists Vizio. It works on a TV with no network at all.
Once the TV is online, pair your phone: the TV shows a four-digit code to type into the app.
How to reset a Vizio TV without the remote
With the TV on, hold Volume − and Input on the back together for 10 to 15 seconds. A message appears on the screen; follow it by holding Input to confirm. The TV erases its settings and restarts.
