Press the button on the TV: under the logo on LG, TCL and most Samsung sets, on the back lower corner on Vizio and many others. On single-button models a short press opens a menu; choose Power off, or hold the button for a few seconds. If the TV is on Wi‑Fi, the power key in Kliky turns it off from your phone.
The button on the TV
| TV | Where the button is |
|---|---|
| Samsung | Under the logo, or bottom right on the back |
| LG | Under the LG logo, center of the bottom edge |
| Sony | Bottom edge near the logo, or the back |
| TCL, Hisense, onn. | Under the logo or sensor, center of the bottom edge |
| Vizio | Back, lower left or right corner |
| Roku or Fire TV Stick | No button: turn off the TV itself |
A streaming stick has no off switch and does not need one; it sleeps when idle.
From your phone
Turning off works on any smart TV the phone is connected to. Turning back on needs the TV to stay on Wi‑Fi in standby; see turn on a TV without a remote.
- Install Kliky from the App Store or Google Play.
- Connect your phone to the same Wi‑Fi as the TV.
- Pick the TV in the list and confirm on the TV if it asks.
Sleep timer and auto power off
Most TVs have a Sleep Timer under Settings › General or System › Time, and an auto power off after a few hours without input. Set it once from a phone remote and a TV left on at night handles itself.
Through a connected device
With HDMI‑CEC enabled, putting a PlayStation, Xbox, Apple TV or Fire TV to sleep turns the TV off with it. Voice works too where it is set up: “Alexa, turn off the TV” on a Fire TV.
Unplugging
Pulling the plug does no harm to an LED TV now and then. OLED TVs run a panel-care cycle in standby after being switched off, so use the button on those rather than the plug when you can.
