The best Roku remote app is the one whose extras suit you, because every one uses the same Wi‑Fi control built into Roku. Compare whether it needs an account, has a keyboard and voice search, supports private listening, and controls your other TVs. The official Roku app is the reference; Kliky needs no account.
Six things to check
- Account. Roku’s own app asks you to sign in to a Roku account before the remote works. Many third-party apps, Kliky included, do not.
- Keyboard. Typing from the phone is the main reason to use an app at all.
- Voice search. Useful if your Roku came with a simple remote.
- Private listening. Sound through the headphones on your phone.
- Ads and upgrades. Most third-party remotes show ads and sell an upgrade. Check what stays usable without paying.
- Other devices. A Roku-only app is fine for one Roku. If the house also has a Fire TV or a Samsung TV, one app for all of them is simpler.

What is the same in every app
Every Roku remote app needs the phone and the Roku on the same Wi‑Fi, and none can find a Roku that is offline. If an app cannot see your Roku, the fix is on the network side, not in a different app: see how to use a Roku without the remote.
