To fix an Apple TV remote, charge it for 30 minutes, then restart it by holding TV + Volume Down for 5 seconds. Still dead? Pair it again: hold Back + Volume Up for 5 seconds near the Apple TV, and unplug the Apple TV briefly. Meanwhile Kliky controls it from your phone.

- Restart the Apple TV
1. Charge it
Siri Remotes charge by Lightning, or USB‑C on the newest ones, from any phone charger. Thirty minutes is enough to test; a full charge takes about three hours. The older aluminum and white Apple Remotes take a coin battery instead.
2. Restart the remote
Hold the TV button (the one with a screen icon) and Volume Down together for about 5 seconds. Watch the status light on the Apple TV: it turns off and on again. Release, wait 5 to 10 seconds, and try a button.
3. Pair it again
Point the remote at the Apple TV from a few inches away and hold Back and Volume Up for 5 seconds. On the first Siri Remote the Back button is labeled Menu. If the TV asks, rest the remote on top of the Apple TV to finish.
4. Restart the Apple TV
Unplug the Apple TV from the wall for at least six seconds and plug it back in. Keep the remote within range and clear of anything metal between it and the box.
Only the volume buttons fail
Volume is sent to the TV or soundbar, not to the Apple TV. Check Settings › Remotes and Devices › Volume Control and choose the device that should receive it, or let the Apple TV learn the volume keys of your TV’s remote there.
Use your phone as the Apple TV remote
An Apple TV on your Wi‑Fi accepts a phone as its remote, which also lets you reach the settings above when the Siri Remote is out of action.
- Install Kliky from the App Store or Google Play.
- Connect the phone to the same Wi‑Fi as the Apple TV.
- Pick the Apple TV in the list and type the code shown on the TV.
On iPhone and iPad, Apple’s own remote is in Control Center. On Android there is no Apple remote, and an app is the only option.
